Our brand new camera was straight out of the box and stretched to its limits, shooting 5K with anamorphic lenses, on steadycam. Our RED One was on standby incase of any glitches, but (thankfully)…it worked perfectly. As always with RED releases, we’re still waiting for some accessories, but now have one of Scotland’s only Epics here, and ready for action
One of the main advantages over RED One is the Epic’s size. Much smaller and lighter, and using solid state (and very expensive) drives. No more complaints when handheld or from Steadycam operators, and no vibration glitches on helicopters.
We’re about to film a demo piece showing its unbelievable slow motion and low light level capabilities, so…watch this space.
